DO I Need To Bring Anything With me?
Since the Scrap Metal Dealers Act was introduced, all buyers of scrap metal, including mobile collectors, must ask you for a copy of your photo ID and proof of address, which must be dated within three months. A UK photo driving licence is probably the easiest form of identification.

The Government introduced the new Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 across the metal recycling industry in England and Wales from the 1st of October 2013. This incorporates the Cash Ban introduced in December 2012. ALL scrap metal dealers are now obliged to verify the photo identity and address of anyone selling scrap metal to them.
