The buildings were of various construction mostly single storey portal frame buildings with asbestos or steel roof sheets, a two storey office block with a flat roof, concrete floor, concrete panels with brick infill.
There was a considerable amount of asbestos present . The redundant pipe work was known to have contained ammonia.
The site was within a business park and care had to be taken to avoid disruption to the normal day to day activities of the occupants.
The methods we used were deconstruction, dismantling and mechanical site clearance.
